The Sport and Recreation Alliance and the Birkbeck Sport Business Centre present “Grassroots sports governance: Improving governance in the non-profit sport sector”
This workshop is perfect for sports clubs, community clubs, volunteers or organisers of sports activities in local communities, who are looking to review and revise their current organisational structure or need help establishing good governance practices.
- Learn about the benefits of implementing good governance within your club or activity group;
- Get practical advice from sports governance experts;
- Network with other grassroots organisations, volunteers and sport representatives.
Good governance is necessary to shape the leadership of grassroots sports. Well governed clubs and organisations perform better and increase their credibility among funders, commercial partners and members.
The event will be led by the Sport and Recreation Alliance Governance team and Dr. Richard Tacon and Dr. Geoff Walters, Co-Directors of the Birkbeck Sport Business Centre.
This is a FREE workshop but registration is required.
Networking with light refreshments will take place after the workshop.
